Michael Axelrod, a native Atlantan, currently conducts a business consulting practice focusing on a wide range of businesses and industries. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University and co-authored a book, The Great Entrepreneurial Divide, with Professor Charles Goetz, also of the Goizueta Business School. Prior to starting his business, Mr. Axelrod practiced law for 22 years with Cohen Pollock Merlin Axelrod and Small. His practice concentrated on business law and transactions, with an emphasis on the health care industry and venture capital transactions.

From 2001 through 2007, Michael Axelrod was a member of the board of directors of Pediatric Services of America, Inc., a NASDAQ home healthcare company, serving as non-executive chairman of the board from January 2007 through August 2007. He has served on a number of non-profit boards: Prevent Child Abuse, America, Inc. (including serving as Chairman of the Board and holding other officer and committee chair positions); Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, Inc. (including serving as Chairman of the Board and holding other officer and committee chair positions); The Weinstein Hospice (currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer and Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee); Congregation Shearith Israel and the Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities. He has been recognized for his work in the field of child abuse prevention, winning numerous awards including the Commissioner's Award (for Georgia) from the Administration on Children, Youth and Families of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. He graduated from the University of Georgia, with honors, in 1979, and from the University of Georgia School of Law, with honors, in 1982.
