Professor Goetz joined the Goizueta Business School in the fall of 2001. Prior to that, he had over fifteen years of experience in developing, implementing and growing entrepreneurial ventures. He has been responsible for starting and building nine new ventures to date, employing over 1,500 employees and delivering returns to investors in many cases far exceeding initial investment expectations. These companies operated in six unique industries including: banking, health care, radio broadcasting, sports, real estate and advertising. He has been awarded three patents and numerous copyrights.

Professor Charles Goetz offers classes to MBA, Executive MBA and PhD students in Introductory Entrepreneurship, Applied Entrepreneurship and Business Development. He is a recent recipient of the Distinguished Lecturer Award and Most Inspiring Professor Award – Executive MBA 2009, 2010.

Professor Goetz has written three books to date. His first two books were written for first time entrepreneurs:

Professor Goetz is often interviewed on national television and radio as an expert in both small business and entrepreneurship. Recent interviews include:

  • NPR: What small businesses can do to be successful in difficult times
  • Fox News: The implications of the new healthcare legislation on small business. 
  • New York Times: The positives and negatives of investing in family related new business ventures.

Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Professor Goetz was a senior executive at Citicorp. He has been on a number of both private business and not-for-profit boards. He has spoken at numerous conventions and was responsible for the development of “Marketnomics”, a mathematical model based on calculus that quantifies perceived customer value by product features resulting in product offerings with substantially greater value propositions at lower costs and higher demand.
